Fibro Coping Skills Course

Postby fester » Wed Feb 13, 2013 7:50 pm

My Doctor has suggested one of these courses.

Has anyone undergone a course like this. If so was it beneficial?

Physio was a complete waste of time and I really don't want to travel 25 miles to attend the course.

Any comments would be very much appreicated.

Hi

I have not heard of a coping skills course but i did go on a living with pain course, not sure if they will go through the same things? They showed us how to cope with your pain, how to pace your day. Gentle exercise, rest, there was a lot of group talking, it was an 6 week course, at the start they set you goals and you have to try to reach them by the end of the course.

:goodluck1: on it.

Just been on the first day of a 6 week managing you condition course...think elsewhere it may be the "expert patient" course. Seems that it will be good but I guess I just have to wait and see. My only concern is the length of time as it is 2.5 hrs long with a 15 minute break in the middle. I know they say you can walk around but as yet no one even trying , very consious of looking different.

Will let you know how I get on.

I hope it works well for you. I live in Canada and took one here, very helpful. Don't worry about how you look, you are all there for the same reason. :goodluck1:
