Could a GP update your notes with just a letter from you??

Postby TNK* » Wed Jul 30, 2014 5:01 pm

Just posted on another thread and this thought came into my head!

My GP DX me earlier this year with FM...This was with a good list of symptoms, but wasnt the full picture, partly because i couldnt remember them all but also, i didnt want to sound like a whinging so and so, and also take up some of her precious time.

I was wondering if i wrote down all my ailments, would it be possible to leave it with my gp and she could update my medical records when she had a bit more time??

I have written down things and asked my GP to include them in my notes. Especially when I've had to claim benefits... As often there are things on the forms that your GP might not be aware you sticker with. Our surgery just scan in what you have written.

I have given my GP a letter before and as Hazel said they scan it in so that there is a record of it

First appointment I had with my GP when looking for a diagnosis, I took a typed A4 sheet listing everything that had gone on over 2 years. He was delighted, and had it scanned and added to my notes - said it saved him a whole load of typing.
