need help which hospital?

hi all ive just got a letter from my gp for a choose n book to see a rheumatologist they have given me 3 hospitals to choose from pilgrim in boston, grantham and lincoln county just wondered if anyone went to any one of these as i dont know which one has the best fibro awareness i was diagnosed at grantham went once got diagnosis and didnt get appointment to go bk so i dont quite know wot to do lol

would appreciate any tips on how to choose

You can go back to your doc and ask for more choice and ask for the FM Clinic at Guys if you want. Your local PALS (Patient Advice and Liasion Service) should be able to give you pointers on how your GP can navigate the system to get you more options.

have decided to go for lincoln, looked at all the hospital web sites on the nhs site and saw that lincoln has a fibro pain clinic figured good a place as any to start lol

Is it a fibromyalgia specialist or just a rheumatologist?

There are no Fibro specilists in the UK that I know of apart from Prof Davies, who is a rheumatologist and sports medicine doctor, but has been only doing Fibro for over 10 years. Fibro is not a medical specialist like rheumatology.

Hi it just says on the web site fibro-pain clinic which is more than the other hospitals said so im gonna give it a shot

i have been told that dr kaushik who is based at grantham is very good and specialises in fm.
