The Sussex Gamble - Rheumatologist Advice!

Postby lauramath » Wed Sep 23, 2009 3:34 pm

So, here I am, with my Choose and Book papers and list of 8 choices. How do I know which ones will be receptive to Fibromyalgia? It isn't like arthritis, where I could pick any one of them and be treated with some expected average. If I pick the wrong one, I will be treated badly, and wasting my time!

Anyone have any luck at the following?

Worthing Hospital

Epsom Hospital

St Georges Hospital - Tooting

Queen Victoria Hopital - East Grinstead

East Surrey Hospital

Crawley Hospital

St Helier Hospital

I have Googled them all and found no positive info, and a few negatives...

Thanks for any help you can offer.

East Surrey as you know for me - I would tell them that you think its fibro though as not all of the pain team picked up on it and I was only diagnosed after every possible treatment failed miserably .

good luck

What treatment(s) are they offering?

I have yet to be diagnosed. In 17 years I have received test after test after test, and over a dozen times heard it *COULD* be FM...followed by a shrug and end of appointment...

I honestly have reached the end of my rope and don't know if I can handle having another appointment with someone who doesn't understand and/or believe it exists.

So this is for a long awaited diagnosis.

Sorry I don't know of anything or anyone particular at any of those hospitals.
