Llanellie specialist great!!!!!!

Postby kphillips » Thu Apr 08, 2010 11:16 am

Im 60 thhis month and feel like all my life i have been in pain. One Doctor wrote to a specialist that "The patiant has a hobby of going to the doctors, with imaginary pain." The specialist was no better, and made my legs and arms go where they had never been before, and when i cried told me to wise up!!!!!!.
Have since been told it is polym. and given steroids, at a high 17grms a day felt better, not great, but better.Three years later doctors said to come of steroids. Went down to 7 grms and could not walk, in so much pain. A new doctor said to go back on them.
Was also told by one Doctor that you cannot have more than one pain at a time!!!!!!, I went with neck pain leg pain and hip pain.
When mentioned about Polym. said he had never heard of it. Said i was depressed.
I have tried quite a few times to end it, ended up in hospital phyco department, where one day i could not walk and told to go hungry as they were not there no wait on me.
Anyway, NOW have a specialist that said FM, leaflet says how i feel to the letter. Understood when i said in one day, can have neck pain, leg pain, depression, shakes and tired. (More than one pain).
Today have neck pain, lower back pain, side of head pain, feel sick, and big words not in my head.
Changing my med. and made me feel better, as she knew how i felt.........
Sorry to go on, but when you get a doctor after 60 years that says you are in pain and it's not in your head you want to shout about it!!!!!!
Must feel better even the sun is out today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all your replies, for those that are still waiting for results, DON'T GIVE up!!!!!!!
How ever long it takes it's worth getting a good doctor or specialist.
We need a list of doctors and specialists, where we can all register, and not use the post code as a barriar!

That's great. Are you being treated for the PMR again?
I run FibroAction, a small national charity raising awareness of Fibromyalgia Syndrome. I am not a qualified healthcare professional. If you would like medical references for any facts quoted, just PM me.

PMR= Polymyalgia Rheumatica

If you have other condition with Fibro it is very important to make sure they get treated appropriately.

It took a long time before I got my diagnosis - for aprox. 30yrs. I was diagnosed with athritis in every joint nook and cranny !! wasn't until related conditions started that I saw a new dr. and she sent me to neurologist who diagnosed FM. Its a disgrace that we have to be treated like this, but thank goodness you seem to be heard now. :grouphug: :blowkiss:
