Can somebody please advise, I have recently been to see a physchiatrist, I went really to please my G.P, However he felt that i had health anxiety :? I was so shocked when i read his report, since last August nobody would give me a difinitive answer to my pain, first diagnosis, was costro, then docs went of track and said heart attack, reflux, and they had to look for other problems that was assosiated with the cause of my pain, costro was put on hold. However having gone through a variety of test and some scans nothing showed and i wanted to know the cause of my pain, today it was confirmed i has costr and fibro, but the physchiatrist felt i have been preoccupied with my health kind of like a obssession, I was concerned about my health obviously because cancer, heart attack, angina have been instigated i am going to be anxious. The pysc asked what i felt was causing the pain and I said costro. However his report didnt back this up, I am totally unhappy with this and do not know what to do, his diagnosis was health anxiety and I have my diagnosis today. please advise i want to challenge his findings and how he come to his decision. In addtion I have had anxiety issues in the past, this has just furiated me this will go on my medical records and i dont want to be afraid to go back to my G P without them thinking that I am a hyprocondriac and Im not. It was the g,p that sent me to hospital and other consultants wanted me to have further test, I didnt instigate them, oh forgot I went to A and E a few times because I wanted to know the cause of my rib pain. this is not acceptable :( what do I do, I was advised through my C B T therapist to challenge the Doctor and thats what I did. i have had different diagnoses and this left me confused. Help i do not want this on my medical records

wel hello

hope everyone is feeling good, just to give an update from my previous posts, it seems to have been ages since i have felt enough energy to add a post

my lft has gone down to 53 (instead of 444) feel like a new man, (well other than the fibro)havent done anthing different other than a course of triple antibiotics( for the c l o bug they found) i was advised that the lft level would not be affected by the c l o bug, but its strange how it seemed to drop so much in a short space of time)

well this week on the 5th june 2011 i got a letter from the hospitial regarding some tests i had back in november 2010, it advised i had mild non alcoholic fatty liver, the letter advised i try some over the counter selenium ace :dunno: , so off i went in search of selenium ace, (never heard of it ) found some in a health store, i have been on them for 4 days, so its early yet but i think its working,   still taking the same level of meds but feel better in myself.
i guess the point i want to make is dont give up, and always get a second opinion, dont worry if you upset the doctor,as its you in pain, untill they suffer the same as you. always look at the positives, hope it helps

all the best

thanks loubie

its strange a few years ago i was fit, healthy, and all seemed well, fast forward a few years and its like something over took my body,
since finding out i have fibro, and trying to learn about it, i feel like the doctors/hospitial is my 2nd home, i've had cameras put here there and everywhere, biopsy, ultra sound and mri's the list is endless as i am sure everyone has been through it.

dont put everyting down to fibro, its worth getting it all checked out, at least you can then deal with it better when you know what it is

off to work now have a great day

please can somebody advise please :( I have had numerious of test and blood test and finally was diagnosed with costro and fibro, However I am furious, during my episodes of test and scans, my doc give up and ask me to see a Phsychiatrist, which i thought was a specialist that dealt with pain managment but he was there to analise whether the pain was physcomatic, ( before I was diagnosed) he told me that my doc had told him that I have had depression o c d and anxiety, I havent been on meds for years or been to the docs since I had a chest trauma. Well his diagnosis was health anxiety, I was so mad I written him a letter as I wanted this emended of my records as this was a un true statment, he also went on to say that in future test be careful sending me to any more specialist, I got a letter returned noting that he is glad i am making progress and that now i have explained my situation he has a clearer understanding.

so far so good, I have had ringing in my ears, head fullness, stabbing pains in my head and neck pain, went to the G.p who was reluctant to send me back to ears n and t ( i missed my appointment) so I had to be re referred, he did a thorough check and I felt very patronised by the terms he was using and the way he was talking to me, once again asking about my life and family I told him everything was fine and he told me my ears was fine with no infection, which i already told him. I am totally upset and feel I no longer will ever go back to the g.p again if this is the treatment I am recieving, my neck and ear has been constant for months.

I am concerned annoyed angry to name a few, he is causing me anxiety, I have a diagnoses of fibro, costro, goitre nodes, and I think I have eustation tube disfunction. I want my medical records emended, I want to trust my G.P and even if I went to the docs twice a week does it matter if Im in pain for god sake, sorry to rant. I have been seeing a C B T specialist for 5 months who is brilliant and wants me to write a letter of complaint and he will basically back me up. Please advise, I dont want to be anxious about going to the g. p. thanks kind regards, Merisa x

can anyone help ? i am at a loss of where to turn, on the 1/2/10 i was confirmed as having fibromyalgia by the hospitial, at that point he put me back to the g.p who is looking after the day to day issues that occur, its nearly 4 mohtns later and i am in more pain than ever, i have been back to the doctors time and time again, (seem to spend more time at the doctors than in work)
at first he was fine, carry on with the meds and any problems come back, at that point he did a blood test to check for anything else, hep a,b,c liver test etc, i then get a letter to go for a scan on my liver as he was concerend that the lft came back as high, i had the scan and all was fine, went back to the doc's for the results, this is when al it went down hill, he started asking how much i drink, advised since i was told i had fibro i havent had a drink so approx 2 months, ok we will do another test, this went on and on, back to the doctors get the results, again how much do you drink ? again i dont, you get the idea.then i asked could it been something to do with the statins i am on, no wont be that, only an idea, at that point he looked at his notes and said stop taking the statins, that was 6 weeks ago, went back another blood test, come back in a week get the results, so i did, excellent news your lft hs going down, i can see you have cut down on the drink, i advised i havent as how can i cut down from zero, well the lft shows its gone done, would this not be due to me not taking the statin, the answer was well done for cutting down on the drink, uh!!!!. same answer you get the idea, at this point i asked can i change the tabs i am on as i am in a lot of pain and 24/7, i get to the point when i could take 16 co cods a day (i dont 8 is the max but they only last an hour or so,) oh lets have a look, have you thought of not taking them at all, no as i am in a lot of pain and need them , well your lft is going down so try and leave them off, yes doc i know but i am in so much pain i need them, come back in august and we will do another lft and see if you cut down on the drink anymore, i dont drink what else can i say.... at that point i left

sorry to rant on but its as though he thiks fibro pain is all in the mind, before this i found him to be an excellent doctor
i am at a LOSS of what i can do , any ideas or advice would be great, i am looking at changing doctors but could really do with a doctor that understands what fibro is.
thanks for taking the time to read the above
lsl
forgot to mention my lft was 444 six weeks later its 325

As far as your liver goes, I know exactly how you feel my doctor was like this for three years in the end I took my Hubby with me so he could tell my doctor I do not drink at all, never have. It was only then did the doctor send me to see a consultant although after tests they still do not know what is going on five years later!!!!

Morning Hannah

thanks for the support, its frustrating, when the doctor looks at you in a way you would look a a six year old for being naughty.
i have been asked to visit a psychiatrist in the new year (to help with anger issues)
the reason i get angry is because of the pain, as soon as they understand that the better.
i find these forums excellent. because most members have fibro or know someone with it.
well i hope you had a fantastice xmas and a great new year

all the best

Sounds like you made the right move when you changed doctors Lee     Hope you get some good stuff from the fibro course :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: It would be interesting to hear how you find the course as it runs, if feel able to do so. And if there are some ideas you think may be helpful for some of us on here, no doubt they would be very much appreciated.
