Wow you did react to it badly, I've never had it personally and don't think I want to if this is what happens :yikes:

hi all
i am on dihydrocodeine is this the one you are talking about :)

i have been on it now for about 6-7 months but only take it if really really need to
i do find it good for me, but has to be taken after food else can make you feel
so so sick, but after food i am fine.
the other thing is constipation, but have lactulose for that
other wise i am fine with it :D
just shows that we are all different with meds, so anything is worth trying

Thanks for ur replys just goes to show how people react diffrently to dif meds i tipped them down thë loo. Never wana feel like that again.the gp said if they dont work he wil try me on morphine patches scared incase i react to them. Having a dif time at the mo going through a nasty flair up. My feet are so painful and my legs feel heavy and the top of my legs burn and feel like elastic bands are round them but oh well we all go through it dont we. Enough of my moaning x

hi cassey, i am on butrans patches, i think they are stronger than morphine patches (?). i've found that i've had fewer side effects with the patch than with pills.

it may be because you are not hitting your liver with a large amount of the drug at once as you do when you take oral medications. instead your liver has to deal with a much lower dose released continuously.

in summary my liver prefers patches
