Bl**dy agony

Postby coral » Fri Apr 15, 2011 9:47 am

Been a while since I posted on here last, still in a lot of pain which is getting a lot worse lately. GP diagnosed me with Fibro back last year and I'm on Ami's 50mg and Zapain pain killers which don't do a lot. Was on Gabapentin but came off those as putting way too much weight on. Been to see a Gastro specialist who's going to do an endoscopy (had one 2 years ago, revealed hiatus hernia) he wants to see whats going on with the stomach. Also an ultrasound and if that reveals nothing then he's going to do an MRCP (possible gallstones left behind after gallbladder removal). That should be in about 3 weeks time. Took 8 months for the referral as a cock up made in hospital. GP still won't refer me to a Rheumy so if all these tests I'm going to have done reveal nothing then I'm seriously thinking of paying private to see one. This pain so worries me constantly, always thinking the worst of what it could be.

Dr also put me on HRT (i;m 50 by the way) as when I had a period after missing one for 7 months I felt so much better. My sore tongue completely went away and all my aches and pains. He said it's worth a try because apparently you can have sore tongue and aches and pains throughout the body going through the menopause. I am totally grasping at straws to be honest and I don't know what to do. I have no quality of life any more like I used to. I can't plan to go anywhere because of the pain and I won't enjoy the day out. My hubby and son I think are getting so fed up with me as I'm ill all the time. Maybe they should live in my body for a week and see what its like.

The pain is so bad in my upper back, under my right ribs and shooting through my back (hence Dr wondering if gallstones left behind). I mean is this pain connected with Fibro because sometimes it hurts more when I move my right arm and sometimes when I breathe or move my head.

So bl**dy frustrating to get an answer to exactly whats wrong. Sorry for ranting.
