New symptoms

Postby di1707 » Tue May 03, 2011 5:03 pm

Hi, can anyone tell me if they have any pain in their face? It started a few weeks ago initially a numb, prickling feeling and it has slowly progressed. I get a piercing pain in my right eye and pain behind the eye along with a numb feeling. I also get pain in my jaw and teeth is this fm? Oh and i have experienced many years of ear ache not sure what to think really. Just been to docs and he was honest he said he didn't know, he is trying to find a specialist to refer me too.

Cheers

hi di
yes i get this from time to time all of what you describe
the eye thing is very painful and leaves it feeling very bruised like for days
the tingling numbness i can also have all over, have ear ache and nothing wrong
with ears, and very sensitive teeth and like tooth ache all one one side that lasts for about
an hour, then it will ether go away or start on the other side

hopefully it will just calm down and go away for a while soon :fingerscrossed:

i do get face pain but never really thought it was related until a week or so ago when it clicked it was probably fibro related.

mine usually starts with a needling pain in my right eye which then waters a little, then pain spreads round to my neck, shoulder and a headache usually follows plus my teeth and jae aches.

i did think it was a migraine but i get them and its nothing like a migraine.

i generally end up taking more than my prescribed dose of diclofenac (its one a day but when my face hurts its two) with paracetamol and i find topping this off with a good sweet cup of coffee just takes the edge off it. only just though :( then i usually have a hot water bottle which i alternate between my neck and side of my face.

hi di

i too have jaw pain, facial arthralgia, eye pains. my dentist reffered me to dental hospital who dx tmd and made a splint which eases jaw pain caused by fm. my gp reffered me to consultant opthamologist who dx eye muscles weak, double vision and sharp pains caused by fm and hypothyroidism. now trying a temporary prism which seems to give some relief, unfortunately not permanent, but manage to read a bit longer.

i go for regular checks to ent after operations on both ears and have chronic ear problems, tinnitus but on my checks where they are happy with my ears they put ear ache/tinnitus down to fm?

hope you get help soon
