Good Rheumy story :)

Postby Ldyalb » Sat May 28, 2011 9:57 pm

Not been around a while, had a crazy week - am now back at my parents house after some horrendous travel problems and lots of potential jobs. Incidentally I've done tests for one job, have to do tests for a job I'm interviewing for on Tuesday morning and I've had a lot of travelling to my parents house and to Nottingham (1.5 hours away) for a hardcore day of shopping.

PLUS I saw the Rheumy for the 3rd time. V good appointment aside from, and I quote;

'has anyone told you that with Fibromyalgia we will never be able to take away the pain?'

well, yes, I do know that, don't really want to hear it from the Specialist though, I can live in some hope at least :nono:

He confirmed my Hypermobility, he said I was the extreme end of HMS but not quite severe enough for Ehlers-Danlos Type III. He's pleased I'm doing Physiotherapy after he referred me, he says it's the best thing for me, and he's pleased my Physio has sent me for Hydrotherapy and Hand Therapy. He's also recommended a vegetarian diet, I've been having IBS type symptoms over the last 6 weeks and he said a high vegetable diet (I average 4 of my 5 a day atm, some days more, some a bit less, most around 4) would sort it out hopefully. My bf and I are trying going veggie for 2 weeks starting Monday for environmental reasons and he said it was a very good idea and should hopefully help :)

I'm seeing him again in November. There's so many dodgy Rheumy/Drs stories on here so I thought I'd post a positive story that there are good Rheumy's out there!! :mrgreen:
