Walking Stick

Postby Morgana » Mon May 06, 2013 3:39 pm

Hi,

I am at the stage where I think I need a walking stick, not all the time, but walking distance is definitely getting harder. Now, being the Goth that I am, I am looking at the ones on ebay - but I need advice on length... (which sounds more kinky than I meant it to!) - any advice gratefully received

Hi
The fold up ones are good as you can adjust the height, they also come in different pattens and you can also bling them up yourself. :-D

Thanks Shazq, I was looking at them today and my inner Goth was cringing at the flowers and primary colours... guess she needs to stop being so fussy!

What about a plain coloured one that you could decorate yourself Mo?? With all the stick~on things you can buy, esp on eBay, there's bound to be something that appeals. And it's a sure way to get a stick that truly is one of a kind, just for you :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing:

Hi guys, thanks for all the suggestions, I have gone for an adjustable one in an almost mokume gane effect and a black and amethyst one for 'special'

Thanks again

Studio cards sell two gothic canes
One with a skull and one a dragon/serpent head. Go here: http://www.24studio.co.uk/ss/index.jsp and search for walking cane

I saw them yesterday when my daughter was looking through the catalogue. Unfortunately I can't use a stick anymore have to use crutches but yes they're cool although not sure how comfy they'd be on you hands (god I sound old)

I got myself a stick a few months ago, but don't find it helps very much other than to lean on when I feel dizzy or lightheaded. My fibro is worse when I weight bear, so therefore I feel like I need something which takes the weight off my feet, knees and pelvis. I suppose two sticks might work, but one alone isn't that much different to using nothing. Crutches or something I think might be better, but I've not tried this.
