Hi, new spoonie here!

Postby hugabunny » Tue Feb 14, 2012 7:49 am

Hi everyone. I'm Jen. I'm new to posting but I have been lurking for a while reading- mostly because I can never keep up any kind of forum presence as I forget to reply, never have the energy or capacity to type etc and I hate doing the post and leave thing, but I will try to keep up!

I was diagnosed with Fibro in Dec after 5 yrs of debilitating symptoms (I'm 27)- it started with dizziness/balance problems that they thought was inner-ear related, then progressed until I'm now the lucky owner of pretty much every Fibro symptom ever listed anywhere lol. I had all the tests in the world last year once I found a good GP and ruled out MS, Lupus, etc. I am unable to work, can't walk more than a few steps even using a stick, fall all the time, in constant agony despite a cocktail of meds, struggle to do much of anything and am just generally miserable with it! I was relieved to finally know what was wrong with me at first but now that novelty is wearing off and I'm just annoyed and fed up with it already lol. I also have a lot of other symptoms that I'm not sure are Fibro-related or not but my post is getting long now and my hands sore so I'll leave that for another time!

Looking forward to hopefully connecting with people in the same boat as me, as much as it saddens me that other people suffer like this too :(

Hugs and spoons,
Jen x

:welcome: to the forum Jen :bear-dancing:

There is a Lot of info and advice on here that you may find useful. We also try to support each other thru the trials and tribblations that FM comes along with. And if that doesn't help, we just resort to :wine: :wine: and [chocolate] [chocolate] as well as going completely

You've already discovered it doesn't take long for the novelty of knowing what we have to wear thin. Unfortunately, FM is stubborn and quite often stroppy like a teenager, so altho we've got fed up with it, it likes to stick around and give us various reminders that it's going to be with us for a long time :swear1: :swear1: :swear1:

With the different symptoms you're wondering about, if you have a look thru the forum, you may find some posts about them, an you can always ask about something you want to know, and we'll try to help you with an answer :teddy-bear: :teddy-bear: :teddy-bear:
