Hello Everyone :-)

Hello Everyone :),
I am new to this site and was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on Fibromyalgia? Since October my Husband has been suffering with severe pain in his fingers, knees, back, chest he says the pain in chest is the worst he feels sometimes like he's having an heart attack and is so painful it hurts to breath when its bad.

sometimes the tips of his fingers tingle and other times there numb. he also suffers with bad headaches/migraines and the pain constantly wakes him up through out the night and wakes up in the morning stiff he has no energy and the pain in constant. however some days better than others but the pain is always there.

he also now is suffering with depression because of the pain. After nagging him he went to see his doctor in november who told him it could be possibly Raynaud's disease or Rheumatoid Arthritis and prescribed him with Diclofenac Sodium and Co Codamol and referred him to an Musculoskeletal Specialist who took bloods off him and sent him for a nerve test on his fingers and arms which came back as normal. however the bloods came back and his b12/folate was low.

The Musculoskeletal Specialist told us it could possibly be Rheumatoid Arthritis so he referred him to see a Rheumatologist who also took more blood however the results came back normal and she said she was positive it wasn't Rheumatoid Arthritis and she prescribed him 25mg of amitriptyline which does help him sleep through the night. However she wanted to do more blood tests and some xrays.

2 days after the xray he gets a letter through the post asking him to go for a whole body radiation bone scan which Rhematologist never mentioned it and they was no explanation however he has a appointment in 2 weeks time for the results.I feel as if where going round in circles and not getting told anything i've been reading some of the stories on here and its took years to be diagnosed. Does anybody think his symptoms could be Fibromyalgia? If anyone can help or give advice it would be really appreciated. Thank you so much for reading. R xxxx

I'm sorry but none of us are qualified to say whether or not your husband may be suffering from FM as the diagnosis is a process of elimination. excluding a lot of other conditions that have a crossover of symptoms.

His symptoms do mimic some of those that FM sufferers may have but you really need to wait until everything else has been excluded and :fingerscrossed: its something that can be fixed rather than FM :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

Glad your hubby has got some answers for his symptoms Roxanne    Sorry it's FM tho :( :(

With all the info and stuff on here, there may be some things he could find helpful

Just ask about anything you both want to know about as there will probably be all sorts of things whirling around in your heads
