Diagnosed today..

Postby Mollie May » Tue May 22, 2012 3:08 pm

Really glad to find this forum! My GP diagnosed me as having FM this morning :(

Looking for help and advice until I see my go again next Tuesday to discuss treatment options, although he has already indicated that because I seem to be very sensitive to medications, that therapy of some kind may be the way to go! I suffer with awful anxiety and depression, and I am worried that my pain is not going to be eased much... I also have chronic ibs and low capacity bowel which makes me pretty much housebound. I have to really plan a day out well in advance, as I cannot eat whilst out and about.

I am in the Northern Highlands and I am not sure what help may be available to me up here :-?
Looking forward to speaking with folks on here :-)

   Mollie May and :welcome: to our little FM sanctuary :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing: :bear-dancing:

There is a lot of info and advice on here, so have a look and read around the boards as you've probably got loads of questions whirling round your head which you may find some answers to. Anything you're not sure of, all you need to do is ask and we'll try to help you with it.

This linky tells you about some of the various types of meds used to try and manage FM http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Fibromyalg ... tment.aspx I know you've mentioned about being sensitive to meds, but if your GP does suggest some to try, this will hopefully give you a bit of info about how they may help you.
