Postby happychicken » Sat Jun 02, 2012 3:52 pm

Hello I am new to forum but had fibro for years diagnosed this year. Can anyone tell me where to begin to get help. I have trouble walking and probs with hands. Waiting for social services but gp thinks this will be managed and dealt with in no time! Abyone had same thing or can advise?

:welcome: to the forum

You should ask your Gp or social services for an OT assessment, they will come out to your house and see where you are having problems and get you some aids to make things easier at home.

I use a walking stick for balance, i have had a few falls, and always use my stick now, it has saved me a few times outside.
so maybe using a stick might help you or even crutches.

Thank you for the advice.

I think that is what I am waiting for with social services.

I am also awaiting appeal for DLA I have loads of symnptoms despite pain and finding I am unwell everyday now.

Sometimes wish I could have chosen a different illness lol, something people understand or less complicated to explain. I list my symptoms like a medical encyclopedia lol!!

Hope youre having a good day and to keep in touch and thanks again x

I said :welcome: on your other post, so I'll just say

Shaz has given you some sound advice, not much I can think of at the moment to add to it.

Hope you can find a more understanding GP soon as it really does help with things :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

Hello i'm new here too but I have been a member for a couple of months now and find reading all your comments and sharing your fibro helps me immensely, I have only just had the patience to find out how to respond or say hello, not much need in explaining how I feel because I feel like all of you "mostly awful all the time".
Would like to wish you all a happy Jubilee Bank hol...
Soft hugs to all.xx
