Still in Limbo

Postby Bunnythecat » Sun May 04, 2014 12:06 pm

Hi, I joined the forum about a year ago, was waiting dx for either MS or Fibro, got nowhere with rubbish neuro and other specialists I saw until recently when have been referred to a super guy who is taking me very seriously. Currently situation is likely MS, still to have some more tests, but my Mum had Fibro so big part of me still thinking its this.

I understand MS and Fibro often misdiagnosed as they get mistaken for each other. Anyone here been in situation where they have been incorrectly diagnosed?

Thankyou :-)

:welcome: back Bunnythecat, nice to see you again, I just wish it was under nicer circumstances :( :( :(

Sorry to hear you're still stuck in LimboLand    I was I could say your experiences with a numpty for a consultant are a one~off, but there are still far too many like that roaming the corridors of the NHS :swear1: :swear1: :swear1: :swear1:

MS and FM do share a lot of overlapping symptoms and problems, which just adds to the     when trying to get those answers you're looking for. I can't recall anyone saying about being diagnosed with one condition, then finding out at a later date that it is actually another. However, with so many new family members joining us over the past few weeks and months, there may be someone who is able to advise you on this.

You could also try the Search function box in the top right corner of the page. There may be some mentions of misdx's down in with the Dust Bunnies that come up.

It sounds like your new consultant is a vast improvement on the previous one, hope it won't be too long before you start getting some of those answers you're looking for :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

I know of one old member who had FM and had had her diagnosis for a number of years, she then was diagnosed with MS so left here to join a forum connected to MS, now I'm pretty sure she was told she still had FM and not that it was a misdiagnoses

Sorry to hear you are still looking for answers and hope you finally get them soon :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:
