Newly diagnosed in South Yorkshire

Postby JFCH91 » Thu Nov 20, 2014 7:11 pm

Hello! :-D

I'm 23 and live in Doncaster, was recently diagnosed in July after losing my home and job in June.
Had symptoms years but gradually started getting worse since 2011.
I'd love to find some new friends to chat to, or even pen pals. I love writing.

I live with my boyfriend of nearly six years and love animals. I have a cat, dwarf rabbit, and my last surviving rat.

Look forward to speaking to you :-) x

Hi and welcome to the board.

I too live in Doncaster, there used to be a Fibro group that met every month but that sadly closed this year.

If I were you I would try to get on the 6 weeks Fibro course held at DRI in the physiotherapy department, it's run by Maria and Kath. If you manage to get on the course you will get meet fellow fibromites there and your fibro world will not feel so lonely.

Thanks :-)

It's ok I went to the Rotherham group meet last month and will be continuing to go to that one :-)
Do you by any chance know Kath's full name? I only ask because my physio comes from DRI and her name is Katherine.

I can't remember her surname, she is a slim lady with black hair and I think she has an Irish accent.

I may try the Rotherham support group after Christmas.

Hmm, it doesn't sound like her.

They're a lovely bunch and made me feel so welcome, despite being the youngest person there.
I'm looking forward to going again on Saturday :-D x
