I am new to the group and recently diagnosed after several years. My name is Ruth and I live in Barnstaple, North Devon. I can tell you that it is a relief to me when I got diagnosed, for years I had almost convinced myself I was going mad. I have a very supportive husband Paul who has stood by me, and helped me. He works away all week but he phones me every night to see how I am. Last weekend, bless him, he had to learn how to cook a roast dinner as I was so bad. Paul and I have been together 30 years and I have two wonderful grown up children and a twenty two month old Grand daughter called Paige, even when I feel awful she always know how to make me smile. We also have six dogs, I do now have a dog walker who helps me with their exercise during the week, I try to get at least one dog walked myself just to try and keep mobile. My Doctor is referring me to a physio therapist at our local hospital who apparently specialises in Fibromyalgia. I think that is enough about me. Looking forward to being part of this group and learning more about how I can manage this illness.

Hi Ruth :-D Welcome to the fibromyalgia forums :welcome:

It is a relief to finally get a diagnosis. Your husband sounds like a keeper, you are very lucky he is so supportive. Any questions you have please ask, have a read through all the information on here and if you are on Facebook there is a friendly UK Fibromyalgia group on there too.
