Anybody in Newton Abbot/Exeter type area want to meet up?

Postby nobby » Thu Dec 18, 2008 7:39 pm

I'm thinking since there isn't an "offical" support group that is easy to get into (why the hell do you need a waiting list to attend a support group?)

Does anyone else think it would be nice to meet up like once a month, drink a cup tea, share moans, things that work, things that don't, things that made us laugh, things that made us cry etc?

Of course getting to a meet up would be a challenge for most of us but even if it's sporadic it might help!

It's nice to be able to share with people who understand.

Well it was like a referral letter from the doctor to a support group (odd enough as THAT was) and I got a letter back saying I was on a waiting list and haven't heard anything since!

Maybe I'm not sick enough for them.

Are you sure it's an FM supporst group? Here's a list of all those in the S.West

Can't see one near you.. perhaps it's an NHS thing

I think it was an NHS short term thing- I have been referred to one near me (by the way the "waiting list" is while they find enough FM sufferers in your area to fill it  )

Mine is 3 2hr sessions in January- the thing that has annoyed me is they've given me a map showing where it is & helpfully saying which buses stop nearby etc...nearby being a 10 minute walk!!!

I'll be dead before I get there!

Lee this post was from 2008 and so I dont think you will get any answers from these posters as I know definitely 1 left and unfortunately we lost Gill, I havent seen any posts from nobby either.

Maybe it would be better to start a new thread, in support groups as lots of people are looking to meet up so :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:
