Hello from Chippenham

Postby stealth49 » Fri Sep 11, 2009 10:29 am

Just to introduce myself, my name is Tony ,Im 51 for years I have the odd pain here and the odd pain there, and suffered chronic lower back pain for an absolute age, caused by a motorcycle accident when I was in my early 20`s. i thought these other other pains I was suffering was just down to getting Older, haha, but about 4 years ago I was getting pains that normal pain killers wouldnt touch, and I wasnt coping very well with it . My GP is a good one, he sent me to the local rheumatism hospital and I was diagnosed with FM. I live on a day to day basis as one day I could feel relativly ok but the next I could feel so ill I wouldnt be able to do much.ASt the moment i have been diagnosed with depression as well so am taking Mirtazapine for the depression and to help with my stuffed up sleep patterns. I also use a tens unit as that helps to a point. The hardest part of living with FM is people saying its all in your mind, even my wife cant understand the mood swings and pain that I have to live with.Take some painkillers and youll be ok.----I wish---- I do try to live as normally as possible, but it is hard.
Well now ive introduced myself maybe talking to people in the same boat as myself might be a good thing.

Yes, actually the UKFM forum does have a good number of males & active posters to :D
which is a good thing as other forums tend to lack males and be out run by us females

:welcome: Tony, theres a place for family and friends on here too so invite Mrs Tony along; I was guilty of forgetting how frustrating it was on loved ones. Tell them they are welcome, there a lot here for all of you.
Take care

One incident of domestic violence is reported to the police every minute.
On average, 2 women a week are killed by a current or former male partner.
Don't let it be you.
