Hi all. Went to Dr's this morning (took me ages to walk there, no transport you see). I wrote all my symptoms down on paper and took it with me. I told him that as he can see from my notes that I've been going there lots of times since last September and I'm getting worse. I showed him the list of my symptoms. I told him that I had spoken to a friend whose friend had virtually the same symptoms as me and did he think it could be Fibromyalgia. He said "You've definitely got a touch of Fibromyalgia". He said they treat it with anti-depressants and gave me a prescription for Citalopram 20mg and said he wants to see me in a months time. I didn't like to push for a referral to see a Rheumatologist today but I will ask about it next month. I wanted him to check my back out where I fell down the stairs on Friday night cos its so so so painful. He said I must have landed on my coycxx (spelling not right I think) and the bruising is coming out but will take a long time to heal. He asked me if my legs twitch in bed and do I get much sleep as well.

Phoned the hospital up about my MRI results because its almost a month now. They said that my Dr should have the results. Nothing mentioned this morning though when I saw him. Anyway phoned the Dr. when I got back home. They rang me later saying that the Dr wants to see me about the result so I will find out Friday if anything showed up.

Does anyone know about this medication Citalopram? I've never taken it before and wondered if it has any good relief?

Just came on for an early morning rant. 2.30am and wide awake again, 3.30 the night before. I have an upset stomach the last 2 nights and wondering if its the new tablets I'm on Citalopram, had a few headaches yesterday too.

Just feel like crap this last week, especially after the fall down the stairs, my back is killing and still swollen. I have so many things I need to get sorted out and my brain won't let me think lol. Couldn't visit my gran in hospital yesterday because I had the runs (tablets maybe), hoping to visit her today though. Me, my mam and sister have to make a decision on what's going to happen to her as she will be 99 next month and since last October she's been in and out of hospital, had 2 mini strokes last October and looks like she's had another recently. She can't remember hardly anything, she's stone dead (with a hearing aid) and registered blind bless her. We can't see any way that she will be able to go back home this time. She has carers 3 times, I used to clean her house, do her washing and my mam would bath her etc. She needs care 24/7 now.

Well I've had a bit of a rant and am now going to lie on the sofa, put the tv on quietly and hope I drop off to sleep for an hour or two.

It was my OH that woke me too, he keeps turning over and hurting my back where I fell, then there's the snoring and sometimes he talks in his sleep. I laid on the sofa but took me ages to go back off, I think these new tablets the Dr. gave me makes me feel not too good and they're really upsetting my stomach, feels like it will explode. Ah well another day to get through, hope I'm ok later to visit my nana.

Hi Coral, like yourself I"m new on here, but I"m already finding hope in reading what the others have to say, so thanks guys :grouphug:
My symptom"s(some similar to yours) started after my son was born in 1999.I"ve made many, many visits to my GP over the years, and as others have said, told it"s all in your head.It was"nt until I told her about numbness in my face that she referred me to a Neurlogist. All his tests where negative and he thinks it"s Probably FM....Hope you get some answers soon Coral..
Could I ask whether I should push my GP for a rheumitoid referral, or stick with what the neurlogist has said?? :dunno:

Hi tommygirl, having read what others have wrote on here I think its either Rheumatologist you get referred to or a neurologist which you've seen anyway. My GP won't refer me to a Rheumatologist when I asked last week. One of the other GP's in the surgery I go to has now said its Fibromyalgia but I'd like to be referred to have a proper diagnosis by a Rheumatologist or Neurologist. I will keep pestering though.

Right this moment the left side of my face is numb. I have it quite a lot and have had for a few years. Looking back over the years now I believe I've had this for a very long time and when i was a child my mother was always phoning the GP to come out (can't get a GP out nowadays) because of the terrific pain I used to have in my legs. In those days they just said it was rheumatic.

I have to go back and see my GP in a months time. They put me on Amitriptyline to see how it goes. Am waiting to see a specialist because I've had a sore tongue now since January but I've been speaking to someone else on here that has exactly the same so that too could be a Fibro symptom. Never ending isn't it?
