Hi from Countyfan

Hi All
I am 51 years old and I have been feeling ill for the last 6 months- generally aching all over and joints feel as if they are on fire. Have seen 2 rheumatologists (The first was only a locum!) and have differing opinions on my diagnosis. I know I have spondylosis of the cervical vertebrae and was told it was due to osteoarthritis but the first rheumatologist thought I also had RA, as my joints looked a bit swollen and I had a slightly elevated Rheumatoid factor.

After a steroid injection I didn't see much improvement but 6 weeks later the 2nd rheumatologist said my joints weren't swollen (could be due to the action of the steroids)and none of the other RA blood tests were positive, so she has put me on Amytriptylene and has done some more blood tests (EMA,ANCA & CK) and thinks it's most likely to be FM.

Unfortunately I had a really bad fall on Tuesday evening and smashed my face on the concrete drive, so am feeling really down at the moment. Was wondering if this tendency to trip over things could be another indicator of FM/

Just need to know there are others out there who know how I feel.

 and :welcome: to the forum!!

Now you've found us, you won't be alone. We have lots of info and advice on here and try to support each with what this condition throws at us.

Some of us, myself included, do have balance problems, but if this is something new for you, or something that is getting worse, then it might be worth having it checked out, just to be sure. :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: it doesn't take too long for you to heal and recover from your fall.

Anything you want to know, just ask and we'll try to help you with it :hugs: :hugs:

If your dog doesn't like someone, then you probably shouldn't either

Hi there and :welcome: to the forum, so glad you have come to join us, so sorry to hear that you had a bad fall :hugs: hope you are feeling better, I have fallen down concrete stairs twice and up them three times, as flup saids, if this is something new for you, then you must go back and see your GP.
