BPPV - associated with FM?

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo - is this associated with FM?

Or is it something separate?

Thank you,

Its def. not associated with fibro. BPPV is caused by crystals in the inner ear that get dislodged and cause vertigo when you move your head.
Do you have other symptoms?

I have Menieres Disease which causes vertigo as well as many other symptoms, but is not associated with fibro.

I have BPPV and I have dizziness that's not BPPV if that's what you mean.

My ENT specialist told me you can't have both, but I do and can very clearly identify what is BPPV and what isn't. I have no idea what causes the non-BPPV dizziness other than I have it.

I got diagnosed with Meniere 's Disease in my 20's after a frightening attack, i had lots of tests.
I am now in my 50's never had an attack since, but i do get ringing ,rushing noise in my right ear, (not all the time), but i don't like heights , also i carn't be twirled round, i go dizzy, and another thing that is really scary, if i visit GP, or Nurse, or if i have to have an xray, once i get on the bed and they have to rise the bed or move the bed i start to feel dizzy, and feel sick. I have to have my feet on solid ground..
I am not on any meds for this, and have not been on any since my 20's. Don't think its anything to do or link with my FM.

Should i be on meds for this?

Hi I've got BPV.
I tend to get it at night when I turn in bed- it makes me feel sick and dizzy, and I get a whoosing sound also. Don't think it is linked with my fm though.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm seeing the ENT specialist in a couple of weeks and just sorting through what I want to discuss.

I to have BPPV, and was told by ENT consultant that it was separate from my fibro ....I also have balance issues that are fibro connected.

I can always tell if my BPPV is flaring, as I feel dizzy when lying down/turning over in bed. I then just phone audiology nurse direct for an appt to get it sorted (if only my fibro issues could be sorted so easy) xxxx
