Eyeballs tender

Postby AndrewK » Sun Oct 28, 2012 3:25 pm

Anyone experience this?
My eyeballs feel really tender coupled with a sort of headache in both temples.
My eye specialist said I have blepharitis which is a swelling of the eyelids...somedays it looks as if i have had a stroke!

Googled pain in eyelids and is came up as a symptom of fibre...Great,how many more parts are going to succumb to this?

Manhugs to all x

particularly in Autumn and Spring I get very sensitive eyes - sunlight reflecting off shiny surfaces can bring on what I call migraine eyes - the sort of star shaped lines with an ever-expanding black dot in the middle; sun, cold, wind or glare can make my eyes stream and frequently the pain i seem to have most of the time in my eye sockets, spreads to my temples, cheek bones and either side at the top of my head. i think the pains are sinus-related but the streaming eyes has been much worse this year and has persisted almost totally through the Summer - yet when I went to Spain - where it was very sunny - in October I had no problems - just a headache as soon as i got on the plane.
i think sinus related problems are something to do with fm and certsinly problems with eyesight/eyes is another. i wear sunglasses inside and out on any day that is either sunny or just bright and glarey - does seem to help a little bit.

Just posted about my own eye problems , dry eyes due to some of our drugs or fibro (can't remember what was said as was in too much pain) have resulted in corneal erosion. am now on drops 4 times a day for next 3 months to stop it reoccuring.

Eye consultant confirmed blurring of the eye is also a symptom of Fibro as the eye muscles can't function as quickly as it use to due to Fibro fatigue.

What next with this horrid illness.

I have a painful ice for the last few days.
Just come back from doctors. He has given me some imigran tablets.
see if these work.
He seemed in a hurry to get me out of there so just another symptom down to the fibromyalgia, I suppose.
Anyone else take these.
You are in a good day.

Ended up in A&E with a migraine about a month ago and was given a dose of Imigraine which worked a treat. I had some at home but hadn't needed any since way before Dx so wasn't sure if I could take them given all the meds, by the time the out of hours doc rang back my face had gone all funny and he just sent me straight to A&E....seems my migraine have changed to mimic a stoke after 30+years of always being the same, headache , really sick, can't see , being sick ,start to feel better!

A&E doc told me it could be due to the fibro as my pain signals would be different!

I often wonder if we had a broken leg would they say it was Fibro related....everything else certainly seems to be :!:

If there is problem with eyelids, it could be the blepharitis :)
"The inflamed eyelids will cause you to suffer from a burning sensation in the eyes and sometimes, unbearable pain. Another symptom that is easy to see is the swelling and redness in the eyes. Your vision may be affected and it is more difficult to see everything clearly. Besides, your eyes may become dry and more sensitive when exposed to the light" - https://authorityremedies.com/how-to-ge ... epharitis/
Garlics can treat blepharitis very well! I usually have blepharitis, and my effective remedy is rubbing garlic juice on the infection :) And after several hours, wash gently with water.

Andrew, I had blepharitis after laser eye surgery a few years ago, I had eye drops for about 3 months till it eventually went away. I think it's back, as my eyes have been sore and dry for several weeks now, but haven't been to see my optician about it yet as they're 20-odd miles away and I'm lazy. I wouldn't expect a GP to have a clue about this sort of thing.
