Itchy hands and feet

Postby Hunterbonnie » Tue Jan 08, 2013 11:37 pm

Hi. My husband has had Fibro for 8 years and just recently (last 6 weeks) has developed really severe itchy hands and feet. They are so bad that he feels the need to use some thing sharpe to deaden the itch. There are times that he itches so much he makes himself bleed. He takes antihistamines ( cetirezine) but has just changed to another one today( can't think of its name!!). Hope that this makes a difference. Does anyone else have problems with severe itching?? I would appreciate any help and/or advice. Cheers all xx

After washing my feet, I put E45 on them to stop them drying out. They didn't look dry but I noticed the creases along the sides of the soles getting deeper. It has stopped the itching totally.

A foot soak in warm salty water with a little tea tree will help the healing from the scratching. Tea tree will help prevent any fungus or germ getting into the sore areas.

I hope this helps.

I had for ages very dry itchy patch on front of shin. Don't know if this would help you, i had tried all sorts even gp gave me steroid cream.Nothing worked, then i tried Doublebase, its a cream in a big tub with a pump dispenser.....It cleared it up, and it was a mess......... Now if it starts to itch,i put on the cream, and hey presto itch goes.... It works for me... Hope this helps

Apart from having severe hives all over  im also lucky (huh) to have real bad itchey legs :-? not a clue why :-? maybe dry skin? :-? and i scratch and scratch til they bleed  cause no matter how much i scratch the itchy gets worse :yikes:

there are many different anti-hitamines (tablets and creams) to try and if no joy ask GP to see a skin specialist for further options / treatments
