Gillian , if you are having any concerns about a new symptom please contact your Gp or out of hours doctors . Although Fibro has very varied symptoms we shouldn't just get into the habit of putting everything down to Fm we can unfortunatly get other conditions as well .

Hope you feel better soon

As its new pain you should get it checked out by your gp, it might not be down to fibro, its always best to be on the safe side. Do you suffer with migraines? I get pains behind my eyes when i have a migraine.

Hope you get some answers soon. :hugs:

I get the same sharp pains behind my right eye, I had tests at the hospital, as they saw a white "something" behind my eye and asked if I had any trauma, or eye infection,I told them I had had a car accident, but nothing or no damage to my eye, they said if it gets worse I was to let them know, my eyesight is fine, and they are not worried, I am still a little worried about it, I am interested on your out come of you MRI, I got the feeling that they were just going to see how it develops, I don't think mine is anything serious, or they would advised me to attend outpatients, so I wouldn't worry too much, take care and good luck

Hi Gig,

I used to get terrible shooting pains in my eyes, alongside throbbing eyeball headaches. It was awful I would just uddenly be attacked feels like someone poking a thick pin from the back to the fron tod the eye.

My fibro pains change so have not had this for some months now. But have a MrI too and it was fine. Not saying that you should not see GP, do go see him but try not to stress it makes it worse.

Hi' I too get a sharp stabbing pain i my left eye. am waiting to see my gp and hope he has any idea to the cause of it.I've not had a migraine for a while so i know its not down to that.
hope your mri scan picks up anything..My eyes have started to feel very hot i use eye drops anyway but they don't seem to be much help for this.

yes, I have 'eyeball pains' too. Like you I would describe them as occasional stabs of shooting pain. Also get the same pain when I open my eyelids after sleep, one or other almost eyelid sticks to eyeball, I'm presuming its a dry eye issue. I get gritty eyes but also an occasional problem of eyeball flickering where i cant control 1 eye and it judders for half a minute or so? Quite disturbing!

And I've noticed this last year that in very low light/in the dark only my right eye can pick up low light and if I close the right eye & look using only left - I cant see anything :-? This doesnt help my balance, it makes for a scary nighttime loo trip as I cant guage distance at all, and head of stairs is near bathroom. Always nervous I'll take a tumble :!:

I sometime have another issue where an eye goes blurry, as if vaseline was smeared infront of lens? I few swift blinks normally clears it. This symptom I think is part of Fibromyalgia as its muscle based and like every other part of our body, the eye muscles get fatigued. My G.P suggested that an eye examination with a local optician would be a better plan than him examining me or waiting for a referal to an eye specialist.
