reading everyones lists it does seem that most of these things must be related and there must be "something" causing them. I wish they could work out what it was.

I have
asthma
asthma related allergies
pernnial rhinitus
psorisis
IBS
lower back problems
knee problems
suspected fibromyalgia

and there are probably others that escape me right now.

it doesnt just rain does it it definately pours for us poor souls!!!!

just an interesting question. How many people here who have these problems parents smoked, or smoked themselves? Just curious really.

Well, there are a few common factors...

Osteo arthritis in neck, spine, hips, shoulders, etc. Led to prolapsed discs in neck and lower spine.
Rhuematoid arthritis,
Hypothyroidism,
Asthma,
Hay fever/ allergic rhinitis,
Fibromyalgia and all it's glory! (IBS, depression, exhaustion, frequent blurred vision, slurred speach, brain fog... ...)

My list isn't quite as bad, but it's still enough to really get me fed up and frustrated some days:

asthma (moderate, but very well controlled)
eczema
hayfever
raynaud's disease
IBS

If it weren't for the fibro, it'd be easily manageable, as my eczema is on my hands only, and only affects me in cold weather, and the hayfever is relatively mild too and is only an issue for a few months. IBS I am generally okay as long as I don't stress too much, and Raynaud's I've had for so long I can manage it easily now, and wear gloves a lot. But all together, and with fibro on top, it really does feel too much some days

I have:

IBS
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (Severe)
Neurally Mediated Hypotesion
GERD (Severe)
Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia
Anemia
Suspected POTS (mentioned, don't have the tools to test, but largely probable I have this due to symptoms and genetic factors)
Suspected CFS
Low Vitamins (unsure the cause, I have to take prescribed doses of Vitamins because they crash without warning causing me to be VERY ill.)
Gastroparesis (Mild)

Most all of my illnesses and symptoms seem related to nerve ending firings/nervous systems being off-kilter. That's why the doc's think they're all grouped together into some mega-illness that pretty much dictates all the one's I have been DX'ed with. It's hard to determine the chicken/egg in this case. And I may never know which one is the main one (surely one has to be, as this hit me almost all at once).

There seems to be a lot of allergies, asthma and eczema type illnesses, ie autoimmune conditions. I guess that is what you get with FMS.

I have:
FMS
PCOS
hypermobility
migraines
nausea ? related to FMS ?related to the two lots of surgery I had for gallstones.
low vit D
IBS
hayfever

When I was at work I was involved with doing case studies, for a university course I undertook. Reading through all of these posts it does seem quite striking that most of the diseases that people who also have FM have been diagnosed with seem to follow a pattern.

When I think of my own additional illnesses, they fit that pattern too:

They are:-

Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD)
Cervical Spondylosis
Anxiety
Depression
Osteoarthritis in hands, lower back and feet
IBS
Migraines and
FMS

If any of you are still currently working in a bio/medical or other health environment and have access to academic journals, it might be interesting to see if anyone has done any work on if these factors could all be related. It seems too much of a co-incidence that everyone has similar additional diagnoses!

If the Artritis foundation and other national and international arthritis groups and research centers see fibromyalgia as a recognised physical condition, why are we all fighting against the medical profession for it to be recognised? It doesn't make sense!!

Just a thought!

Good grief! :yikes:
I reckon between us we could cover most medical areas, lol!
Here goes;
Asthma
COPD
Bronchiectasis
Oesophagitis
IBS
Osteo Arthritis
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Migraines
Fibromyalgia
Pre Diabetes
Knee problems - (awaiting a replacement op)
Plantar Fasciitis - (awaiting confirmation)

Although the lung diseases are the most scary - not being able to breathe is terrifying - the ones that cause me most problem on a day-to-day basis are Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. Not just because they are so painful, but also because of the fatigue and memory impairment.
I was put on Pregablin a few months ago and it's really helped with the pain (especially at night!)

Gosh, I feel quite healthy all of a sudden........my list is fairly short:

Fibro
ME/CFS
Asthma (very mild)
Early stages of nodal OA
Sciatica
Mild tinnitus
Long-term neck/back problems (? due to the Fibro)
IBS (no symptoms for a while now)
Migraine (none for a while now)
Sinis problems
Hayfever
Chemical intolerance, especially all medication, caffeine and alcohol

I think that's it for now!

It does seem very strange that so many of us seem to have the same kind of things. There HAS to be a connection.

Crohn's disease
IBS
plantar fasciitis
Osteoarthritis in hips
Vitamin D deficiency
Sinus problems/deviated septum
Hayfever

My list is quite short in comparison! Although I'm sure I may have forgotten something!!!
Crohn's, IBS, plantar fasciitis, psoriasis, Vitamin D deficiency, minimal osteoarthritis, possible Hughes Antiphospholipid Syndrome and fibromyalgia...I'm a walking medical encyclopaedia!
