I'm scared, PLEASE help!

Postby summers72 » Tue Apr 30, 2013 6:15 pm

The last few months I've been noticing my hands trembling, not a great lot hardly noticable but it's there, usually my right hand but the last few days in my left too. But mostly I constantly feel an internal trembling a lot of the time, although again hardly noticable but it's there, a feeling. When I look at my hands (palms up) sometimes my 2nd to smallest finger and my index finger wobble a little on their own for a few seconds and when I hold things like a drink, I can see the liquid trembling just a tiny bit. Is this a Fibro symptom, is it something that can be a symptom? Because I am absolutely terrified that I have the onset of Parkinson's!! I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow morning (1st May) but he doesn't listen a great deal and tend to pooh-pooh things I ask about, I'm also worried he'll think I'm a bit of a hypochondriact as I do sometimes tell him I have this that or the other each time I see him but the thing is, I still don't know all the different symptoms you get with Fibro and I've got no one to ask! I've had it for over 7 years and keep telling the doctors I need someone to talk to but they say there's no one! I get so many weird things but I don't know what's Fibro or what could be early signs of anything more serious! Can any one PLEASE help and advise me? I would be SO grateful for anyones reply. Thank you
Dani :-)

Dani I know how you feel I was exactly the same, I had a very noticeable tremor in my left hand plus the internal tremors and was tested for Parkinsons as my Grandfather had it. It was fibro related and although the tremor settled for a while I have found its come back, the internal tremor I felt was the worst as it felt like I was shaking constantly it was constant for over a year then settled as I said but is now back, not as bad and hopefully it wont get there.

Go and see your doc, they may want to run an MRI scan and have you see a neurologist, the main thing is dont panic. :goodluck1: lets know how you get on :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hi Summers,

Sorry you are feeling this way.

We can't say that what you are experiencing is fibro or not because any new symptoms should be refered to your doctor.

You say you are having problems with your gp, have you thought about changing to a different practice.

Also you have no one to talk to locally, well you have here on this site just ask away.

Could there be a fibro group that meets near you or maybe a M.E CFS group where you could attend.

There are many of us on this forum who suffer with these internal and external tremors, so chin up love.

I have what they call a benign or essential tremor in both of my hands, but it is worse in my right.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_tremor

I am not saying that this is what you have, just trying to reassure you that it doesn't have to be something sinister. I hope your GP is able to help

Thank you all so, so much! I've literally been getting myself so worked up about it today, I can't even think straight. I will talk to my doctor tomorrow about it but this has helped calm me a little, thank you. The doctor I see is a specialist at the main hospital, the only one who sees people with M.E and Fibro, my local doctor is ok but none of them seem to listen, give much advice or know proper details about this condition! I saw another doctor at an M.E clinic a couple of times, apparently he's also the only one locally to me but he was so horrible, pom-pas and not understanding at all. I've asked my doctor a few times if there are any local groups etc but all he's said to me is have a look on the internet and find out yourself!! I tried but couldn't find anything local enough, as I live away from any major towns and I don't drive. But I will definitely come on here more often and again, I'm so grateful for all your replies :-)

Summers72........my dad suffered from benign tremors also. I know that some medication can cause the tremors.

There are so many reasons for tremors. To name a few, sugar levels , thyroid issues, anxiety, blood pressure.

Try to take note and see if something triggers these things. Hopefully soon you and your Dr's. will come to a conclussion
and you will find some comfort.

It can be awful but at least mine passes!

Hi There

Hmmm I get that as well:)) I get it in the left hand mainly, sometimes it feels like it is going to go numb and my hand goes
weak....It's a terrible feeling to have.... I went to a Neurologist *before* I was told I had Fibro from the Rheumatologist and
the Neurologist said that he could find nothing wrong with me.... but he said he cold give me a brain scan, but didn't think it was
MS!! I though MS :yikes: When he wrote to my GP after my appointment with him, he said that even if I had gone in the
MRI scanner, he would expect it to be in the normal range!! but my dread is, if I did go in it for the test, what would be the
outcome :?: that is the dread we all have :( My hands sometimes look puffy when I turn my hands upwards..and I do get what
you get as well....I am sure most of the GPs and doctors think we are all totally mad!:) In the meantime,, look after yourself
and I don't think you are alone with what you have described. X
