Need advice about this symptom

Postby wiltshireguy1982 » Sun Sep 29, 2013 6:46 pm

For the past 4-5 months, I have been having headaches on the left side of the head most days, particularly near the left eye and also on the left side of the head.

Also, I get lots of horrible tingling and vibration symptoms in these areas and also tingling in the left side of my cheek.

I am very worried about this and I am worried that it could be something like a Brain Tumour? I haven't been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia yet but have been having some issues for quite a while now, I am due to see a Neurologist but not until Xmas week which is a very long frustrating wait.

I don't know whether this might be a Fibromyalgia issue or a Brain Tumour or something else but just wanted to see if anyone else on here has had similar symptoms or problems?

Thank you.

Headaches can be a part of FM, as can tingling and vibrating sensations. However, they can also be indicators for other problems as well, so I wouldn't want to have a guess at what could be causing them.

You really need to go and see your GP about this, see if there is something that might be able to help ease things for you, and if necessary see if your neuro appt be brought as far forward as possible so you're not having to wait until almost Christmas to be seen.

Thanks for the reply, I have seen my GP several times and they haven't done much apart from put me on Gabapentin which hasn't done anything for me and referred me to a Neurologist, although Blood Tests were done and they were all ok.

As you probably know with the NHS the way it is, there's next to no chance of me getting my Neuro appointment brought forward, I just hope this isn't serious because 3 months is along time and it could get much worse by then.

I know it's the hardest thing not to do, but worrying and wondering will probably add to how you are feeling, which then adds a bit more to how you're feeling, and before long you find yourself in one of those vicious downward spirals.

Could you see a different GP about the headaches?? You might get a more positive, helpful response from them. Most specialist/consultant clinics do have a number of appts put to one side for those who need to be seen quicker, so if you can get a more proactive GP involved, there could be a chance of it being brought forward.

One good thing is, I emailed the hospitals PALS team and explained to them that my symptoms are very troublesome and that I cannot really wait until Xmas to see the Neurologist, they have managed to bring it forward to the end of this month, can't complain about that.

i hope the Neurologist takes me seriously, I intend on going in there with a printout and diary of my symptoms over the last 4-5 months.

First of all....stop worrying about the, it could be this or it could be that. Worrying and assuming will make a headache worse.

You need to get a diagnosis of fibro as well as these headaches. Reading things online at times can be very beneficial but self diagnosis can be dangerous or you can worry over nothing.
Also with fibro, everyone's symptoms can be different as well as their meds.

With fibro I get migraine headaches. They are mainly on my left side and involve the left eye with pain and vision loss.

It is great you got your appointment moved up. Try to relax until your appointment. The neurologist will also either confirm or deny fibromyalgia.

Good luck!
