 hi everyone, I have been back to the doctors today on day 20 of my epic headache, to be told that I am suffering from cluster headaches
my doctor has stopped my nefapam and given me naproxen again also given me zomig
I was wondering if anyone else has been told they have these cluster headaches and what medication you have been given for them

Hi. Yes i went through a 12 month period of cluster headaches. They would range from feeling like an axe had gone through my head to feeling like pins and needles travelling from one side to another. I saw a specialist and was told its to do with restricted blood vessels in the head. I was put on beta blockers and it made a huge difference. Im no longer on the beta blockers and havent had cluster headaches since.

I have 50mg sumatriptan, tried the 2.5mg zomig but they didn't cut the mustard so sticking on my sumatriptan instead.

My wife got them years back & they gave her low dose amitrypyline to break the headache cycle which worked very well for her.

I have suffered Chronic Cluster headaches for almost 18 years. High delivery oxygen .... 15 ltr per min . This will usually abort an attack. But you will still feel exhausted after one. But the oxygen will usually kill it within 5 - 10 minutes so it doesn,t go full blown. I take large doses of Varapamil while in a cycle. But I reduce that down as low as possible when out of one. I have to take it as a preventative. If you want any further info, feel free to PM me.
