Hi peeps!! Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with bleeds behind their eyes?? Apparently I have one behind the left eye which was found during a routine opticians appt. My husband is now concerned as it could be causedby type2 diabetes.

Hi sarahsnow
I haven't experienced this myself, but then my last opticians appointment was in 2012!

(Maybe I should make an appointment)

Hi sarahsnow,

not myself, but my mother had a strange event happen where she suddenly could not see properly. She went to her GP, who in turn referred her to a specialist. they bandied about the term, "Wet Macular Degeneration," but thankfully that was not the case. Blood had seeped out of a vessel behind her eye, and she is currently getting it cleared out through a procedure where they put a needle through the white of the eye and draw out the blood. It is three sessions, one per month for three months. She could go blind..yah...but it could fix the problem.

Now, it sounds horrible, but if it hasn't disrupted your eye sight, and the optician had not recommended any treatment, then it could be one that is small enough to improve itself. The specialist did tell my mother this much in regards to hers, but because it had caused her to lose her vision, (blind spot), in that eye, they took a more aggressive route.

This, from what I understand, can happen to anyone at anytime of their life, which is why it is so important that once a year you have an eye test to make sure that the eye, front and back, is healthy.

I hope that I haven't scared you, as that is not my intent, I am just trying to let you know that there are conditions out there that sound scary, but generally are not.
