Aching legs..fibro symptoms???

Postby sharon g » Thu Jun 18, 2009 2:13 pm

Hi everyone

Had really bad aching legs tuesday and wednesday from the waist down. Had a job to walk and put one foot in front of the other. I really hurt so much :( . I didn,t know what to do with myself, how to sit to get comfy. On top of that my upper back was killing me, had to end up lying on the floor in the lounge for awhile with a couple of cushions under my head to get comfy,it gave me some relief- thank god! Also was falling asleep down the shopping aisle in Asda yesterday when trying to my shopping with my partner. Just wanted to sleep. So tired
Anyway. Anyone have any suggestions  what I have been suffering from. Had this problem before. Could it be to do with my fibromyalgia? Please help :grouphug:

Hi again :) . Thanx to those who replied to my earlier query :D . I myself have had chronic fibromyalgia for 3 years now (2006). Took 12mths to be diagnosed with condition. Been to see 2 rheumatologists and a specialist in Fibromyalgia at a local hospital of mine at the end of March this year. She was really nice and spent a good hour talking with her. I told her of all the probs I was getting: chronic headaches, chronic finger pain, pain in the neck, soreness and tenderness in the back and also chronic pain in my back, tiredness, aching and painful legs and last but not least pain in my feet  . She told me I was showing all the signs of having Fibromyalgia, and told me that it was no point in taking any painkillers, because they dont help (i,ve taken the A-Z of painkillers and i,ve found this to be be true for me as they have given me more side affects than helping me). She also told me that there is no cure for Fibromyalgia and that I had got it for life. She did offer me sessions in an hydrotherapy pool but for me that was a definate no-no at present as my 16yr old son tragically died nearly 2yrs ago by drowning in a lake, but she was very understanding about this situation, so you can appreciate why I want to stay away from water if possible. Sorry to sound morbid  :hugs:

So Sorry to hear about your son.
With meds, there are so many to try, it does sound like you have tried a few.
Have a look around the site to see what others are taking, that might be of help to you.
You could ask your Rheumy to put you down for a pain course, i had my 1st one this week.
They help you to understand fibro and how to live with it.
