Been up most of the night wtih severe right side pain again - it was really really sore and i had to take 4 trammies before it stopped hurting.
No point in trying to get dr out, or go to hospital,as we are snowed in again.
Well anyway its a bit easier now, been to loo, its still sore.
Thankfully i have only to get on with this till early january to see surgeon.
I had IBS before but this is so different, i can point to the source of pain, its always there, and going has not helped it one bit.
Strange cant possibly be the renal colic as this is def bowel stuff now.
What a mess.
However i have been under a lot of stress (re family crap) so it could be the bowel has IBs Who knows, dr says its not typical IBS - had a twisted bowel 20 years ago but its not like that either - so now they are considering Diviculitis?
Honestly what next

I can locate my pain too but i have crohns and had 4 ops with it.

Have you been checked for a kink princess? as that would cause the pain to be in one place?
I have had this before and it is very painful.

Fingers crossed that the surgoen will get you out of pain quickly as you have been through so much lately, your pain has been there for a few months now. :hugs:

It started at the end of JUne, i cant believe im still in pain.
Yesterday it lasted 26 hours of bad pain, today its there but not so bad - going to the wee room makes no difference.
Yes my friend who has Chrones has suggested a kink - i will ask the surgeon when i go up.
The tests for bowel what do they involve?
I know a barium meal will be first - but what of the colon camera - is that bad?

The colonoscopy (camera) is done as a day case now.
You have to take clear out prep the day before they will sedate you for it but they wont put you out as sometimes they might need you to turn over.

I lay and watch mine being done, i have had to have polyps removed before.
It does not take to long.
After a rest i get a cup of tea and a biscuit you are allowed home but must have 24hrs care.

Transit study is another way they can tell if the bowel is not working right, i had one done a few months ago.
You swallow capsules over 3 days then on the 7th day you have a x-ray taken, this will show up if the capsules are still in your system, if they are you have a weak bowel, just my luck it showed mine had not gone through, my specialist said that my bowels are very sluggish all the way through. :(

Another test is the barium and follow through.
You have the clear out prep again, then you have to drink this thick white stuff, then every 10/15 mins they x-ray you to see how fast the stuffs goes through your system, then once it is low down they scan your stomach to see if there are any narrowings or blockeges.

Hope this helps. :hugs:
