Hot drinks burn

Postby pinkfairygirl » Mon Mar 08, 2010 8:32 pm

I have a problem with all hot drinks, they have to be almost stone cold before I can drink them, other wise I get a terrible burning feeling down my esophagus, it's horrible coz I can feel it go all the way down to my stomach, does anyone else here suffer from this?

It sounds like you could have acid reflux, a lot of people with FM do. The lining of your oesophagus could be 'burnt' by the acid from your stomach coming up into your throat.

Yeah hot drinks (and very cold drinks) used to awful at triggering my GERD.
