I'm a little scared

Postby Jacquieg » Tue Apr 27, 2010 10:39 pm

I saw a Rheumatology Consultant at the hospital in March 2010 and he diagnosed FM and prescribed Lyrica, to no effect I must add, however he said he didn't need to see me again, unless the blood tests he had taken showed up any abnormalitie, as my doctor could manage my condition given that it would not be a quick recovery, if that. I got a letter from his secretary 10 days ago to say that my Liver Function Test was slightly high and I would have to have the bloods taken again by my practice nurse and then an abdominal scan. I had the second lot of tests done last Monday and when I phoned for the results on Friday I was told that I should make an appointment to see the doctor as they are still high. I got a letter in today to say the scan is next Saturday! Has anyone gone through this and if so can you help me not to feel just so anxious - I'm sure you can imagine the type of thing running round my head!! I have to tell you first though, that I do not drink or smoke and the only bad man I k now is my husband - my feeble attempt at a joke!!!

I think it depends on which part of the test showed high results, there are 6 different things they are testing for.

Oh I didn't know that so I will ask. Many thanks for your reply as I have over 'googled' it and imagined all sorts of things!!! I wish it was next Saturday to get the scan and ask the questions.
Thanks again
