:hugs:
My main pain problem with Fibro is from back pain. It is in my lower back and travels right down the front of my legs to my knees where it can be very painful as well. It can, on really bad days travel right down beyond that. I also have pain in my neck and weakness in my arms as well as my legs and yes there are good and bad days.

As someone who has been newly diagnosed, after 4 years of agony and being passed from pillar to post, and a new member of this forum I can assure you that this forum is just great. I have had a lot of other things that have bothered me that I have not even thought about mentioning to the doctor, the back pain was so horrendous, I am now starting to realise that they are all part and parcel of Fibro.

Have you been referred to a pain clinic? Ask your doctor if he could refer you. They are the very people to help you. I know this from experience as do many others on this forum.
I do sympathise as the pain can get unbearable at times. You are not alone in this, far from it
:hugs: and :flowers:
Believe you me ........you are not going on. Have you seen the length of some of my posts :?:
The people on here all understand

Thanx for replying, as with you the back pain is just the beginning of the problems :( i also have 2 prolapsed discs from being hit by a car which i believe started these problems. So i guess im in the right place where people can really understand as i turely believe that unless you have fibryo then you cant understand what we are going through, no matter how much you try. At least they try though :)
:hugs: thanx again

Hi
I have back pain to.
Have you ever tried a TENS machine? they can be a great help, i have one with 4 pads, they are battery operated so you can walk around still attached.
A memory foam mattress can also help, you can buy the topper ones on line for about £30, the thicker you buy the better.
( i only have a 3in topper and thats fine.)

I have pain in my lower back which is made worse by walking and pain in the top of my back/neck from both fibro and discs so know what you mean. It must be so hard to manage in your job with the pain that you are suffering with. Have you tried heat patches you know the stick on ones? I find heat helps, doesn't take the pain away but just soothes it a little :dunno: anyway hope you get some relief soon sending you some gentle :hugs: :hugs: and :flowers:

I too suffer with really bad back pain. I have been diagnosed (after MRI) of prolapsed discs but the consultant said that the pain from that shouldn;'t affect the top of my back so waiting for another referral to see a gastro specialist. I get a lot of pain under my right ribs and at the back and it hurts to touch this area. The pain when i get it there spreads right across my upper back. It's the worse pain ever and even taking painkillers doesn't help much. Still don't have a proper diagnosis of Fibro just "it might be" from the GP's I've seen. The only relief I can get from the pain is lying down on my stomach for an hour or so, that usually helps for a while until it comes back later.
