Knees clicking out of place....

Postby lrgatrell88 » Mon Apr 11, 2011 7:16 pm

Hi

Does any one else get this? If I sit down or even try and cross my legs etc my kness click out of place. It's so painful. I've had to use my hands to straighten my legs out till it clicks back into place.

It doesn't happen all the time but can happen whenever I bend my knees.

Hope you are all ok

 Lauren, I have or it sounds like the same problem that ive been suffering with, does it feel like your knee caps just slip or move to the side like their locked? Last time i visited my dr. tried to explain to him that it can happen at any time then i just fall. He just looked at me as if i was mad or making it up :x if your own dr. dont believe you, who will? As i was leaving, looked at him and told him i want to go back to see a specialist who knows about FM :swear1: :swear1: So now you know that we both have this problem, what can we do about it, last time it happened to me i nearly fell down stairs, good job OH was giving me a hand to get down.

I seem to be going through all new symptoms which are all horrible, especially my hip, groin, knees all at the :swear1: :swear1: time....I really dont know what i would of done without this site, as Denys suffers with this and gave me good advice, Hope you are having a good day and enjoying lovely sunshine.

Going to try to get :cup1: T.takecare

Hi
My knees click every time i move them but every now and again they lock and i cant move them for a few seconds, it is very painful, i have to wriggle my hand over my knee cap to release it. Not sure if that the same as what you have?
My ankles have started to click aswell and my hips have started playing me up, not sure if its all connected. :dunno:

Knees clicking out of place....

Postby lrgatrell88 » Tue Apr 12, 2011 3:37 pm

My ankles have always clicked to. It feels like my knee caps actually pop out of the socket. The other day i Had to get my little boy to pull my leg to straighten it until the knee cap went back in. very very painful

It happened to the other day and I some how managed to fall out of bed trying to get it to go back to normal!

Just been signed off work for a week. Didn't even have to go into my gps surgery. Just spoke to him on the fone. I think they might b sick of me now. Lol. Maybe it's just another of the joys of fibro 

O and I went to London to see. A fm specialist ( I live in Chelmsford). Took me 2 hours to get there and had to take my son because he was at playschool for mornings only. The 'specialist' told me I wasn't as bad as I cud me ( I had been having a really good few days) and that I had it for life and to just deal with it. . I was so annoyed I had to try not to cry all the way home. I hope you're specialist is better and if you're not happy research online and ask to be referred to them xxx

When joints dislocate or click out of place look up hypermobility joints/Ehlers Danlos syndrome my sister has it quite bad, there are various types this has passed through our family but my sister has it quite bad. I have an appointment with genetics soon and will probably have a skin sample taken to see if I also have EDS but I seem more so to suffer with pains, random bruising, fatigue etc which seems more like this fibromyalgia which my sister thought she also had but was tested positive for pots. Maybe EDS and fibromyalgia are linked ????
