Hi can anyone tell me who takes the above medicine and in what doses. Is it just the patches you have or do you have the extra sub lingual tablets that you can take for breakthrough pain.

I am due to see a rheumotologist privately (coz i could not cope with waiting on the NHS) next wednesday and i want to be armed with ammunition.

I currently take 8 x strong cocodamol a day and oromorph 20 mg every two hours prn. I find that the codocamol are not strong enough and that the oromorph wears off so quickly so i was hoping the specialist would look at alternative pain options.

I cannot take Tramadol as they make me really low and i doubt i will be able to take Gabapentin as i am already on Sodium Valporate (another anti seizure medicine) for my bipolar.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Don't know if this will be any help to you but i take mst tablets (morphine) which are slow release along with plain old paracetamol as doctors have told me it works better with morhine than cocodamol.
