New Fibromyalgia/CF Course in Gloucestershire

Hello all,

Let's Talk (2Gether NHS Trust) will be piloting a new course on Managing Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue.

Initially it will run in Cheltenham but will start to get replicated out across Gloucestershire.

Open for Gloucestershire GP surgerys only.

Managing Fibromyalgia
and Chronic Fatigue
By the end of this course, participants will:
• Understand Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue and the impact on emotions
• Identify unhelpful thinking patterns and thought challenging techniques
• Be able to communicate personal needs more effectively
• Learn strategies to deal with sleep and memory difficulties
• Be able to set goals to manage set backs

The one course in Cheltenham is nearly full but courses will be offered very soon all across gloucestershire (day and evening courses).

Hi all,
Another course has been added to the popularity of the previous course. This time it will be an evening course in Cheltenham (hopefully we will in the next few months start running them in other localities (Stroud, Gloucester etc).

“Using CBT to manage Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue” will run on:

Wednesday 16th July 2014 to Wednesday 12th August 2014 6pm – 8pm for 5 weeks @ Cheltenham (Venue TBC in next few days).

By the end of this course, participants will:

• Understand Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue and the impact on emotions
• Identify unhelpful thinking patterns and thought challenging techniques
• Be able to communicate personal needs more effectively
• Learn strategies to deal with sleep and memory difficulties
• Be able to set goals to manage set backs

• Week 1: What is FM, What is CFS, Impacts of both, effects of inactivity and Gate control theory
• Week 2: Avoidance and Thought Patterns
• Week 3: Personal Rules and Communication
• Week 4: Stress, Memory and Sleep Hygiene
• Week 5: Goal setting and Managing Setbacks

Note - The Let’s Talk Service is for people with mild to moderate depression and/or anxiety – which has been shown to negatively impact Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue.
