Epsom Salts??? What to do with them??

Postby TNK* » Mon Dec 29, 2014 6:21 pm

Ive just bought some for the very first time this afternoon, (I think i have actually turned into my nan) I am currently sat with my feet in a bowl of hot water with a generous shaking of the salts!

Not sure what else to do with them tbh, my feet are ususally the part of me that hurts the most, especially after spending most of the day on them at work!

Just wondered if anyone else had used them in other ways!

You can also put them in the bath with a few drops of Lavender oil.

I use 1 cup epsom salts, 1 cup bicarbonate soda and 10 drops lavender oil in my bath. It really helps relax my muscles and ease my pain.

Epsom salts are high in magnesium which those with fibro lack in. I was advised by friend (and chiropractor) to use them to help with sore muscles. As mentioned in another reply adding tea tree or other oils can benefit other things. I have found buying online MUCH cheaper than ie Boots. I also take magnesium and manganese supplements along with vitamin e and omega 3 in various forms including flax seeds. I have been suffering for over yr & 1/2 but only finally diagnosed 3 weeks ago. I was initially told it was grief manifesting itself when my pain woke me in the nite. Hope the salts work for you x

FP - don't forget the essential ***DM link warning*** I clicked accidentally. Although having said that, that link is hilarious! As if those two got flat stomachs just from bathing in epsom salts

Put 2 or 3 cupfuls in a bath, stay in for 15 mins minimum and don't wash off or - make a body rub by mixing a little water with the salt and keeping in a bottle. I frequently bathe in Epsom Salts but swear by taking a daily dose of Magnesium Malate.

Nothing!!!!

The magnesium molecules are too big to pass through the skin but the hot water would do you lots of good.
