Magnesium- what's best?

Postby ktgreen123 » Wed Dec 31, 2014 2:25 pm

I bought some Epsom Salts on Monday and used them Monday night but wasn't sure how often I should use them? Also I don't know whether it is related but my skin on my arm came out in eczema the morning after, not sure if it's coincidence or if it's related as I do sometimes get eczema.

Also I've saw some people mention taking magnesium orally, what is this? And can you take it orally and use salts?

The bath did seem to help and have slept better.

I use the salts in my bath and take magnesium orally. I also take b vitamins, vitamin c & d. It's said that fibro people are low in all these vitamins (except c I think). I take c to keep my immune system stronger as I'm too scared to pick up a bug as I think it will wipe me! As for the exzema it could be because its winter and skin gets dryer in the winter. My son gets excema sometimes. I don't believe its connected to the salts but you never know. Wait for it to clear up then try again. Then you should know for sure. Use oilatum in your bath for your skin and E45 for moisturising x

I think I'm going to try oral magnesium, I take vitamin D which is currently prescribed to me by my doctor and I have a quarterly check up on my vitamin levels. I think I'm due one in February.

I have been putting my double base gel on my dry skin and after baths and it seems to be clearing so I think it is just the weather rather than the salts.

With only recently being diagnosed Im still trying things out and trying to get my head around all of my tablets, treatments and routines.

Dealing with this is exhausting in itself.

I bought SOLGAR Magnesium Citrate tables from Amazon and I take two per day. It seems fine. but I can't say I have noticed any difference in symptoms.

I tried Life-Flo Pure Magnesium Oil and it is quite nice but does irritate sensitive skin if you use too much.

As others have mentioned - B vitamins, vitamin D, C and zinc can be useful. I regularly take D and B vitamins as well as omega 3 fish oils.
