Hi Linda
I have been having a lidocaine infusion for quite a while now (over 2 years).
I have fibromyalgia but also 2 other separate conditions resulting in chronic pain.
This for me has been life changing.
I can feel the effects as soon as the procedure is over and have it repeated every 12 weeks.
While it doesn't last the full 12 weeks I can increase my activity when it's at its most effective which is why I say it has been life changing. I can definitely feel when it's wearing off as my symptoms gradually begin to creep back into me. I can plan around the times I know I will be feeling the benefits of the lidocaine and best of all I have been able to (over the space of a year) reduce and stop all daily oral medication, under dr's guidance, which in turn has had massive benefits to my health as I feel 'with it' for the first time in years, my concentration levels have improved, I'm not as tired. I can read a book (without reading the same page over and over!) I have also lost 3 stone in weight naturally (weight I gained upon starting said medication).
I do not have any negative side effects from the lidocaine.

I hope this helps you, good luck!

Thank you so so much for your reply, it has helped a lot, cN I just ask, does it make you feel like you are taking meds? Can you drive ok? Can you drink alcohol? It's just once it's in you as you say I could last 12 weeks, and that's a long time to feel drugged up??
Thanks again for responding
Linda x

Please can you tell me which hospital offered you infusions, I live in London and it is hard to find a specialist who will administer lidocaine infusion on the NHS
