Fibromyalgia Awareness Day

Postby MCT » Wed Mar 04, 2009 5:11 pm

It's International FM awareness Day on 12th May, Florence Nightingale's Birthday.

I know it has been mentioned before about getting TV programmes like GMTV and This Morning etc to talk about FM and to raise awareness and an apparent reluctance for them to do so. Perhaps what we need to do is for Forum members to decide on a day (end of this month beginning of next) for as many of us as possible to email the programmers on that day to ask them to do a piece on FM for the Awareness Day.

What do others think?

Like sunshine in the morning, may this brighten up your day and show you that you're thought of in a warm and loving way.

FMA UK have Awareness bracelets & Ribbons available as well as T-shirts & a few other products See Here

There are some plans for a campaign of awareness there too, using Fibro Ducks! Have a look around the site to see more about that.

FibroAction are also organising a few things around that time, including a fundraisnig walk & more Awareness campaigning FibroAction

I had emailed GMTV and Granada reports, but heard nothing back so far. :(

I've just emailed Real Radio, RadioCity and our local newspaper, so here's hoping someone responds and does a special feature!
