Tracie you have to keep fighting, you are entitled to go to GP's outside your area if you cannot get any satisfaction from your present GP. Speak to PALS they can intervene for you

Aaaawww Tracie

You are being turned away from every where you go. Do you have a close friend or someone in your family that would be able to come with you next time? I agree with Denys you need help and support from PALS, its disgusting that your GP, A&E and out of ours are not doing anything to help you get some pain relief. It sounds to me like you need an urgent referal to the pain clinic and like others have said you need a firm diagnosis so that you can start with the treatment you so desperately need. What do they actually say to you when you go to A&E and out of hours? I dont know how they live with themselves turning you away when you are in so much pain, i know i couldnt cope without my pain relief and i am on Morphine, Dehydrocodeine, Paracetamol and Oxcodone, i know everyone is at a different stage with fibro and also have other ailments as i know i do but they should be treating the pain that you are constantly presenting with.

Please, please contact PALS either in person at your local hospital or Google PALS and give them a call immediately as you really do need some help now.

Good luck Milly :hugs: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Hi

Goodness me you must be on a real mixture of medication for gp to use this as the reason and the only reason i say this is because i take 93 ttablets a day which include morphine, oxycodone and dehydrocodeine, steroids, crohns, blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis and many other drugs. Surely to god there must be something what is wrong with the medics in your area it is absoloutly ludicrous. Have you had any problems with drugs in the past? some people are more prone to addiction or are sensitive to certain drugs. I dont know what else to suggest except strongly advise you to contact pals as a matter of urgency. Did you say you had tried cocodamol 8/500 that can be bought over the counter at the chemist? If not it could be worth a try!!!

Good luck with this

Tracie.....what medications do you take already? There may be someone here that takes the same meds as you but also others. They may be able to suggest something they take that you could question your GP about. I can't take pain medicine orally, it makes my stomach bleed, I have other options. There has to be options out there for you.

I was going to ask why three medications that treat either bipolar or seizures? I understand why some medications are not given with these meds. (My hubby is bipolar) What confuses me is why three when they can contradict each other. Tracie, did the same Dr prescribe all three medications to be taken together? Was it the same Dr. who diagnosed you with fibromyalgia?

Hi Tracie,

I am taking Lyrica ( Pregabalin ) for the Fibro which is also used for Epilepsy. Other medications i am taking are :
Lamotrigine ( For E )
Clobozam ( for E )
Requip ( For RLS )
Sertraline ( for Depression )

I would recomend that you stop taking the citalopram, when i was 1st diagnosed with depression this medication made me suicidal.. This also happened to several friends of mine who took the same medication, and we lost a good friend because of it !!

I have found that the Lyrica has helped me sleep through the pain at night, and for the 1st time in years, some mornings i have actually woke up in the morning feeling refreshed instead of more tired than when i went to sleep !

My GP is also useless ! She blames every symptom i have on my E or on my E meds ! Which even my neuro has said is rediculous lol.. It was a locum who diagnosed the fibro, but unfortunatly he was not authorised to give referrals.. I have an appointment with my Neuro next month so i will be discussing the Fibro with her and hopefully I will get some sort of support.

Can i ask why you are taking the lamotrigine ?

If you need to talk i am happy for you to pm me ! I know exactly where you are coming from about lack of support from your GP.. I could go to mne with an ingrowing toe nail and she would insist it is down to my E o.O she has no clue !! but like you transferring to another surgery is near damn impossible as they are all full, with at least 2 month waiting lists.. This is down to cut backs and many surgeries have closed. The out of hours GP is not meant to be for just emergancies, but unfortunatly even ours will not accept anything but emergancies grrrr
