Diagnosed after30 years!!!

Postby Millymo » Tue Jul 08, 2014 8:16 pm

Hello everyone, Today as a last resort( I thought I might just give up and die quietly if it didn't work) I paid to go and see a specialist in Birmingham. After 30 years(as anyone else had it that long?)I finally have a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia.I wonder if any of you can identify with the feeling of relief at finally having a label for this misery and sadness for a life that has been such a struggle. I don't do anger, but I'm angry at the drs over the years who dismissed me as if I was some sad hyprocondriac, one of which said " if you keep coming here with all these complaints how are we supposed to know if your ill? It's a long story ,which spans a long time. I'm glad to have found you all. I have just turned 60.I'm married with one son( sadly in the USA). Its been a funny day today. I feel like I don't know what it feels like to feel well.It does help to know that others understand.xx

I am thankful that as soon as the pain started up, I was diagnosed. But I was already seeing a rheumy for arthritis which I was diagnosed with last year aged 34. I've been through the anger etc at having both conditions so young but I'm ok ish now :) I cant change any of it, so I just keep moving forward, a day at a time. It's all you can do xxx
I am a fibro fighter not a fibro sufferer. I will keep fighting from the minute I get up til the minute I go to bed.
