Girl of Green

I can stand out in the rain and never get wet,

I remember what you forget,

The skeletons of the trees, shake in the breeze,

As I walk upon the water that cannot freeze,

Caught between winter and spring,

I can only think of one thing,

Red lipstick that glows from her pale complexion,

A vision of beauty that rivals perfection,

A tender voice of sweet affection,

She runs where others walk,

She sings when others talk,

The girl of green,

Has brought back the colour to my dreams.

A night beneath the stars is a night well spent,

When you have champagne, what's the need for rent,

The graffiti on the walls, of the royal halls,

Burns even brighter as the temperature falls,

Laugh with the ignorance of a child,

Let wisdom escape your smile,

A golden wave floats upon her shoulder,

Carries a secret that an angel told her,

Time will pass but she'll get no older,

She runs where others walk,

She sings when others talk,

The girl of green,

Has brought back the colour to my dreams.
